The world has definitely learned a lot from the past. Check out these photographs from the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918 v/s COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020!
Spanish Flu Pandemic, 1918, in pics:
People gave up social distancing at an early stage, which led to massive spread of the pandemic and more deaths than foreseen!
Social Distancing was almost null in young individuals due to ongoing World War I.
It was tougher to distinguish fake news from real one, as misinformation spread through trusted sources like newspapers!
How fearful it would have been to be digging mass graves? Just how difficult it would’ve been for the workers!
COVID-19 Pandemic, 2019
A positive aspect of the 2020 pandemic is that people have still not given up on Social Distancing and it continues to be seen everywhere!
Youth is still working, as they were in 1918, but the nature of work is Work From Home, making them safe and keeping the work going!
Essential Service providers are working with proper PPE’s(Personal Protective Equipments) and precautions!
Misinformation is spread in every generation, but sources are not limited now. Hence it can be discarded up to a large extent, but not as compared to 1918’s newspapers!
Transport is at a halt, be it flights, trains, buses or taxis!
People are more woke towards the hard work of doctors, cleaners, vendors, etc. who risk their lives daily in our services, and acknowledge them more than ever!
