Most of the youth aged 18-24 are living with their parents during the lockdown. We should appreciate the fact that we have somewhere to fall back to when it’s so difficult to stay and survive in cities all by ourselves, it’s no less than a privilege!
1. Family Time: You get to spend time with your family, instead of just living alone, you have the company of your parents all the time, that never lets you feel lonely!
2. Routine: Parents can be strict at times, but that helps us fall into a routine that is definitely good for us, and we could never follow one living alone!
3. Supplies are not your duty: Be it groceries or monthly staples, you might be asked to shop for the house, but it’s not your responsibility to keep a check on the supplies!
4. The Yummy Food: And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the greatest perk of them all, we get food, that too tasty food by our mothers, that we always miss living away!
5. The Familiarity, The Neighborhood: Your parents’ house is, in most cases, the one you grew up in, hence, you’re familiar with the house, and with the neighbors, and have the liberty to spend your time with familiar people!
6. Money: You save a lot, and we’re not exaggerating ‘a lot of money’, especially when it’s lockdown days. You get everything that you need in your house, you don’t have to order meals that you’d most likely be doing if living alone!
7. Learn from Parents: Especially if you’re at a point in your carries, where you have to make tough calls, use your parents’ experiences and learn from their mistakes, use this time and opportunity to grow!
8. The peaceful balance- Work/Study: While at home, you can work or study without having to take care of petty issues like supper, or watering the plants, or locking the door, or mopping the floor, etc.
9. Care - The Give and take: You get to help out your parents while living away, there’s always a regret, especially at times like these, that you should be there with your folks, in front of their eyes so they don’t take unnecessary tension for you, as well as you can help them and take care of them!
